Channeling Sabrina Carpenter, we’re going to keep this short and sweet.
I’ve been sick for two weeks now. Thankfully, it’s just a cold but I can’t seem to kick it. Probably because I haven’t slowed down and stopped since the first sign of sniffles.
As tends to be the case, I got sick at the worst possible time. Between my busiest work month of the year, back-to-back family visits, social events, and just life in general, there hasn’t been much room for rest.
You know that saying, "If you don’t listen when your body whispers, you’ll hear it when it screams?" Ya, that’s real.
As I've been down and out the past few days, a few thing have brought me comfort. Normally, I have a tendency to completely disassociate when I’m sick, scrolling TikTok for hours on end. This time around, I’m actively trying to avoid the rabbit hole. Here are a few things that have helped:
Watching old seasons of the Great Halloween Baking Show
Reading This Here Flesh
Eating Froot Loops
I haven’t watched this show in 10 years and yet for some reason I’m now all in. (#TeamIlona but Chandler should win).
That’s all for this week lol. Check back in next week for some more coherent thoughts.
What brings you comfort when you’re sick? Let me know so I too can enjoy.
